The 2010 Oncology Nursing Multiple Myeloma Mentorship Program
The 2010 Oncology Nursing Multiple Myeloma Mentorship Program (MMMP) will link mentees who treat patients with MM in 34 institutions nationwide (inpatient, outpatient, community and academic institutions, and bone marrow transplant centers) with MM nursing expert mentors. Up to 7.5 free nursing contact hours will be awarded to you for your participation in the 2010 MMMP. The mentorship period will take place from July through December. Mentees who complete the entire program will enhance their MM disease expertise and their presentation skills, leading to their development as an advanced clinical expert of MM-related educational activities for their institution and nursing staff.

Hematology Lectureship Series for Oncology Nurses: Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia
The treatment of CML is among the most rapidly evolving fields in hematology. This is primarily attributed to progress in understanding of the biology of CML and treatment responses. This regional educational program is intended to ensure that hematology/oncology nurses treating patients with CML understand the rationale behind disease-management strategies.

Community Hematology Clinical Debates: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
Despite the availability of consensus-based treatment recommendations in CLL, adoption of such guidelines has not yet been consistently achieved. Research indicates that the gap between evidence-based practice guidelines and community practice patterns has broadened in oncology. The curriculum is designed to ensure community-based hematologists/oncologists understand the rationale behind new treatment approaches and have clarity surrounding current clinical debates in CLL. Participants will be encouraged to share their own challenging cases with the expert faculty to facilitate expert opinions on optimal treatment selection.

Multiple Myeloma: The Clinical Debates on the Role of Stem Cell Transplant
The treatment of MM has changed significantly throughout the past 10 years. The use of high-dose therapy and SCT account for much improvement in patient outcomes. It is critical for hematologists/oncologists to be aware of the issues and understand the current available data to support clinical decision-making.

Community Hematology Clinical Debates: Multiple Myeloma
Hematology is among the most rapidly evolving fields in medicine. This is primarily attributed to progress in understanding of the disease process and the integration of novel therapies with conventional strategies, such as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). The curriculum is designed to foster support for effective treatment decision-making for individual patients in light of current clinical debates in MM. Thought leader faculty will be comprised of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Hematology Panel Members, researchers, and other leading hematology experts.
